A Study on the Burden of Family caregivers of Early-Dementia who are Using the Daycare Program for Rating out of Long-Term Care Insurance

Abstract
This study was an exploratory research via focus group interview(FGI) for the family caregiversof early dementia who are using the daycare program for rating out of Long-Term CareInsurance. The aim of this study to understanding the change process in the caregiving burdenof families of early dementia. FGI was conducted with 17 family caregivers. Family caregivers said they felt anxiety fromdementia while recognition. And they turned out to be physical, and social burden experiencedwhile caring for the elderly with early dementia. On the other hand, Social support that isavailable for family caregivers was insufficient. Results using the day care program,Family caregivers reported behavioral and psychological symptoms for dementia have beenreduced. And they said feeling of anxiety and guilt for caring declined, thus reducing the burdento caring for elderly with early dementia. Therefore, they wants to use the daycare program aslong as possible. Results of this study, Daycare program for early dementia has been founded that it canprevent the facility entrance of dementia. Therefore, the need to activate the day care programfor early dementia were raised in order to promote the community care of the elderly withdementia.
